Welcome to Gatley Primary School

Dear Parents / Carers

Welcome to Gatley Primary School and to the start of what we hope will be a happy and successful learning journey for your child.

At Gatley we aim to create a challenging learning environment where children can grow and develop both academically and personally.  We take pride in our achievements and have high expectations for each child in every aspect of their work. This is captured by our school ethos and mission statement – ‘Enjoying Learning and Achieving Together’. As a result, we achieve consistently high academic standards and in 2015 have secured a place in the top 200 primary schools in England.

We see ourselves very much as a community school, where education is a partnership between staff, parents and children, and where we work together for all learners to achieve. Our school ethos of valuing each other, providing a safe and caring environment for learning, developing confidence and skills for life and celebrating achievements of all learners is our key focus.

Gatley Primary School actively promotes collaborative learning both within and beyond the school, including our work as a National Teaching School. We involve our learners in active decision-making and empower them to generate their own contributions to school developments. Our children enjoy contributing to our curriculum design and delivery through an independent learning environment. Children at Gatley are actively encouraged to lead their own learning.

This website aims to provide you with information to give you a flavour of our school.  If you would like further details, or to make an appointment to visit the school, please contact Lynda Butterworth, our School Administrator.  Her contact details are 0161 428 6180 or by email at office@gatleyprimary.com.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our school.
